Meet the Founder
Chris Martin, President + Founder
Chris has more than 25 years of experience in media and communications. He began his career at CBS News where he produced primetime documentaries. He ultimately became a producer at the venerated news magazine program 60 Minutes and was one of the youngest producers in the history of the program, working primarily with legendary journalist Dan Rather.
Chris left New York where he had worked for nearly 14 years, to become a producer at The Oprah Winfrey Show where he worked closely with the inspiring host of the program, and hundreds of guests, for nearly five years.
Chris then headed back to New York to participate in the $200 million dollar launch of The Dr. Oz Show.
In 2010, Chris moved to Austin, TX after accepting an offer to become the Director of Communications and Multi Channel Marketing for leading biotechnology company, Myriad Genetics.
In 2014, Chris founded the strategic marketing and communications consulting firm LEVER.MEDIA (formerly CAVU Media Works) where he worked with numerous companies to help them hone their messaging, solve their communications challenges and elevate their brands and public profiles.
Putting consulting aside temporarily, Chris took a full time position in 2017 to produce documentaries and news programming for Charter Communications. He received two Emmy awards for his work at Charter where he and his small team looked at national issues through a local lens. The programs Lone Star Crisis, Faith and Firepower and L.A. Under the Gun were widely praised for the depth and breadth of their reporting and ability to present a fair and accurate representation of the opioid epidemic and gun violence in both Texas and Los Angeles.
In 2020, Chris re-branded his marketing and communications consulting company and is now working to address the most challenging and pressing needs of companies, non-profits, law-firms, healthcare clients and individuals. He and the LEVER.MEDIA team work tirelessly to chart a course through an increasingly complicated media landscape, providing strategic solutions and training to make his clients shine and penetrate through noise.
